Photography is a profession for many but for most it’s passion photography. If you’ve been around the photography scene, you’ve probably heard the terms “hobbyist” and “professional” by now. A hobbyist photographer is someone who takes photos for personal enjoyment, while a professional photographer uses their skills to generate a livable income. Although both professional and hobby photographers can take equally good photos, the main difference between the two is that a professional photographer makes money from their photos while a hobbyist does not.

But then there are some that lie somewhere in between or rather swing between these two categories of photographers. Such is the case, of one our beloved customers, Mr James whom we are going to talk about in this blog article.

James hails from this beautiful picturesque country of Georgia, filled with eye-drooling nature. He grew up and has spent most years of his life there.

He had a passion in photography from the very start but was never really able to pursue it as a full-fledged career in his early days. James has juggled through a whole variety of professions throughout his lifetime. Whether it being working as a draftsman, a police officer, a quality control technician, a bus driver, a teacher an EMT, he has done it all.

His heart always remained with art and photography but was never able to really follow it until the last decade where he was actually able to do and invest time in something that he really loved doing.

In May 2010, he moved to a valley in the state of Arizona, United States. That’s the step taken in his life, that made his dreams come true and take over 350,000 photos of wildlife and scenery. As he claims, the place is full of inspiration for his passion photography, being covered with beautiful scenery and wildlife all around. In minutes, he can get an access to be on top of the White Mountains from his front door or in the hefty luscious grasslands that contain hundreds of dormant volcanoes, or in the calmness of the deserts of New Mexico or in the state of Arizona, itself. He has been in love with that place from the time he once went onto visit his friends who live there.

It was June of 1966, when his eldest son was born. That’s also the time, he began his advent of doing photography, counting to 53 whole years now. His area of expertise and interest lies in wildlife and scenery.

What started off as a hobby, then a passion for photography has now turned out to be his profession. As the saying goes, it’s never too late! James is a living example for it to be true and a great source of inspiration for the young and like-minded people who are lost on pathways they shouldn’t really be on.
