Taking Pictures in the Desert Sun: Getting the Right Light

A little neighborly love is always nice. That’s why I like this video. It’s shot in Sante Fe, New Mexico, which is within hours of El Paso. I love being from El Paso and its beautiful desert. I love knowing how harsh it can be, especially the light. In case you’ve never step foot in a desert, this could be a really instructive video for your on-location desert shoots. It’ll go over much of what you need to know.

It is hosted by Joe McNally, and if you know anything about this blog, you know that I love me some Joe McNally. He really knows his stuff. So sit back, relax, and smile knowing you don’t have to worry about the blistering desert sun for the right light — unless of course, you do have to worry. If that’s that case, well I guess I’m sorry about that. But either way, you look at it, you’ll find yourself taking better portraits. Thanks again, Joe.

Enjoy!
