Shoot Beautiful Photographs With Your DSLR & iPhone Cameras
A highway at night becomes a flowing river of white and red light. A flowing river becomes a smooth, almost glasslike hypnotic blurred surface. A night sky overhead becomes a circular whir of stars. Waves on the beach feel more like swirling clouds. Fireworks become glowing trails cascading down from above.
A long exposure can take something ordinary and make it look extraordinary. Leaving the shutter open turns a normally static image into something dynamic and moving.
Long exposure photos can be absolutely stunning, but they are not always easy to produce. Perhaps you have tried to take long exposure photos before, only to end up with less than satisfactory results. Maybe your best efforts have ended up blurry, overexposed or full of noise and artefacts.
It’s often challenging to capture the movement within the frame in a beautiful and effective way. If your long exposure photos turn out disappointing, this might have discouraged you from experimenting more with this type of photography.

Great course, taught me a lot about the use of Neutral Density Filters to get long exposures in the daylight. I have not had a lot of experience using ND Filters. When talking about remote releases and cable releases he did not mention using the camera’s timer to remove camera shake. If he did I missed it. He also said nothing about using Variable ND Filters. Overall a good course though. – Carl Wilks
